OUR COLLECTION
Thomaston Public Library is home to a collection of over 25,000 materials, with everything from the latest bestsellers to classics by Maine authors, an extensive collection of DVDs, and more. Come on in to browse, or search our online catalog to find fiction and nonfiction for adults and children, local genealogical or historical references, graphic novels for all ages, large print books, audiobooks on CD, and classic and newly released TV shows and movies on DVD.
Our collection is arranged in the library as follows:
Main Room
On the first floor of the Thomaston Academy Building, our main room is home to:
- Mystery books
- Large print books
- Audiobooks on CD
- Young adult books, including fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and audiobooks
- DVDs
- New adult non-fiction
- Poetry & drama
Reading Room
Across the hall from the main room, our Reading Room is the library’s quiet space and home to:
- Adult fiction
- Adult graphic novels
Lower Level
Downstairs on the lower level (accessible by stairs or elevator), the following collections can be found:
- Adult non-fiction
- Adult biographies & memoir
- Oversize books
- Children’s books, including board books, picture books and early and independent readers
- Middle grade fiction, non-fiction, graphic novels, and audiobooks
Community Conference Room
On the second floor (accessible by stairs or elevator), the library leases as additional room as a meeting space which is also home to our Reference collection.
